these cute people and giving thanks.

Fall is here!

this is bryant & brookelyn. it was their two year dating anniversary. so sweet. they were so much fun to take pictures of!

This is the season to give thanks, be with family, and eat a lot of yummy food. I love holidays! So, this month I'm going to follow suit after my good friend Lesley over at In Every Season and in each week of November I will list something I am thankful for!

I'm thankful for gorgeous weather and beautiful colors! God is so good. He gives us beautiful gifts in all seasons and I especially love seeing all the leaves change colors. I could just sit and stare at all the bright red and yellow tree top out there all day long. And sometimes I get distracted while driving. I end up looking at the gorgeous leaves when I should be concentrating on the road...oops!
Can't say I'm quite as fond of the freezing cold rain, sleet, snow, and ice that comes afterward, but I do have a major exciting thing happening in the middle of  this coming winter, so on the contrary, I can't wait for it to get here.

That's another thing I'm thankful for, but I will save that for a post next week!

What are you thankful for?

yesterday & today

Yesterday was gorgeous! The weather, church time, yummy food cooked by the fiance, organizing my new apartment...so many good things! On top of all of that, I got to photograph this beautiful newly-wed couple:

This was a post wedding shoot. Their real wedding was supposed to be at this location a few weeks ago, but the weather decided to be dreary and drop buckets of rain all day long, so they had to move the wedding indoors. The wedding was still gorgeous of course, but I'm so glad they got some fun, outdoor pictures too.

Today. Well, today the weather is just as gorgeous as yesterday, but this head cold of mine is making me feel otherwise. This is what today looks like for me:
Shoving down the vitamin C, trying to sooth the throat with some tea, blah blah blah...

And that pretty little hanky you see there? Not for decoration...my snot rag. Yes, I blow my nose in style (thanks for the inspiration, Brittany). You can look cuter while wiping your snot and save money at the same time. Win!

On a fun note, this is also happening today! And will be for the next 3 months. Woo!
We've officially set a date.

January 21, 2012.
1.21.12
one.twentyone.twelve.

There's kind of a ring to it. I like it.

Hope you're having a lovely Monday!

In a month

A lot happens in one month! When you don't have internet in your house (except for one tiny little spot beside the washer and dryer that doesn't even have a very strong connection) its hard to get motivated to go somewhere just to post something on the old blog.

But as I look through my calendar one month ago from today, I'm going to try to recall all the exciting things that have happened. And share a load of photos that have been taken during these weeks.

First: I've been getting regular weekly massages. Ahhhh. SO nice. But not because I've just got extra moolah to whip out...no way. I took a couple photo shoots for my friend Kristin, who happens to be a massage therapist. We thought bartering was a great idea.

Second: I started choreographing a musical in Marshfield. This year they're performing Nunsense....and, oh my, it will be hilarious. The weekly trips out to Marshfield have enabled me to get free dinner and ice cream with the parents here and there. Definitely can not complain about that!

Third: My brother got shot. He's okay! It was an accident and a complete miracle. My dad wrote a blog post about it (it will probably make you cry). You can read more about it here

Forth: My roommate Haley and I have begun the search for a new apartment. Oh boy. Yes, we just moved in about 3 months ago and its not fun to be thinking about moving again, but I would rather move than live in an upstairs apartment that is smoke-filled from the downstairs neighbors and their bad habits. Our landlord was gracious enough to understand our situation and is letting us out of our lease. Thank you, Lord!

Fifth: My friend Megan had an amazing idea to start a female friendly bike riding group in Springfield! Brilliant. We'll be blogging about our girl-friendly biking at WhimCycle Cylcling. So fun!

Lastly! I've had like a zillion photo shoots it seems like! Here are a few photos from those:

I also took photos of a wedding. Those aren't quite finished, but I will share soon!
To bring things full circle, here are some photos from this no make-up, rainy morning at the Hub.

That's my new (really old) french horn. Isaac and I are working on some music. Maybe I'll do some sharing of that soonish. Oh and Isaac shaved his head. Ah!

Hope you all have a lovely, rainy day (Springfieldians).
