thrifty thursday!

Here are some finds from this week and a favorite find from a couple weeks ago!

Loving all my new finds! I'm linked up to The Haps for her weekly 'High On Thrifting Thursday' blog post. Can't wait to see what everyone else found this week.

happy thrifty thursday!

happy hair

Like I said yesterday, I cut my hair even shorter! It's one of those haircuts where its a little longer in the front and shorter in the back. There's probably a technical name for it like, graduated circle-square asymmetrical long bob thing like Jennifer Anniston, or something like that. Close? Ok well anyway, I'm loving it.
Lesley snapped this photo yesterday. I got to hang out with her and little Elle all day! It was so much fun. We spent the morning thrifting (sharing my finds tomorrow) and then got the best pizza in town at the Pizza House on Commercial Street. If you haven't eaten there yet, go now! It's so good. After we were stuffed to the brim, we strolled up and down commercial and did some window shopping, and then came back to my apartment to chill.

happy hair to everyone!

no theme today

A few weeks ago I got to "flower sit" for Brittany. She and her family live just down the hall from us but our apartment gets a little more of the bright, west-facing sun than theirs. So in effort to keep the pretty little things alive she wheeled them down to our corner of the building. And of course I had to take pictures.

She grew them for decoration for the women's retreat that our church held a couple weeks ago. I wasn't able to make it (stupid work, ugh), but I'm holding out for next year. The forks all had different bible verse references on them. Such a cute idea. She's one crafty lady.

This guy. He sure is handsome. And boy do I love him. Yesterday was our four month anniversary! That doesn't seem like a very long time, but its already been so much fun being married to him and I can't wait for what else this year brings.
Last thing. My hair doesn't do this ^ anymore because I chopped it even shorter! Ah! Never thought I would love a short hair cut but I'm definitely loving it. I've had some people tell me I look older with it. Finally! Most people still think I'm sixteen or something. If you follow me on instagram, you've probably seen it, but I will share some hair pictures on here soon!

super duper easy and fun bracelet! // DIY

I bought both the small strand of leather and the gold rings from hobby lobby. I'm sure you could find similar things at michael's, walmart, or any craft store!
 1. Fold your leather in half.
 2. Measure it over your wrist to see how long you need to make it. Make sure to leave plenty of room for knot tying!
 3. Start sliding the gold rings onto the looped side of the leather. Add as many as your heart desires!
4. Once you've reach your perfect amount of golden, tie knots on either end of the rings to hold them in place.
5. Wear, love and enjoy!

I just tied the loose ends together, slipped that end through the loop on the other side and wrapped it around my wrist again to add a little more of a leathery look. But you can fasten it however you like!
Have fun making yours!

junk yard modeling, duh.

dress: old navy, sweatshirt: forever21, belt: thirfted, earrings: gift from africa, shoes: old navy

Yesterday morning consisted of sleeping in, husband making breakfast while I put my face on, going to some thrift shops, and to this antique junk yard (if that's even a term). There was some pretty cool stuff there but it's always a little on the pricey side. We like our steals. This was not a place for steals. This was a place for accurately priced, really popular antiques.

On a different note, I'm really liking this pink lipstick right now. Baby lips from Maybeline is where its at!

tilt shift time.

I'm so excited about this little technique called tilt shifting. I read about it on A Beautiful Mess via Arrow and Apple. Between the two of them, you're bound to learn something new practically every week!

Here are a couple shots I got using tilt shifting:

After we got back from thrifting, Courtney let me use her as a model while I practiced. Like they say on Arrow and Apple's tutorial for tilt shifting, it takes a lot of practice and patience. I think I took about fifty or more pictures before I got one that I actually kind of liked. Go read about it and try it! Its so much fun and adds an exciting element to photos!
